Mr Bowen has 19 years of teaching experience at the high school and middle school level. He has been employed by the Capital School District at Dover High School since 2009. Prior to that, he spent nine years in the Lake Forest School District at both Lake Forest High School in Felton, Del. and WT Chipman Middle School in Harrington, Del. He is a 1992 graduate of Mansfield University of Pennsylvania and also taught middle school science in Maryland for a year.

Mr Bowen has also been employed at Wesley College at the Sports Information Director (1994-2000) and assistant football coach (1993-1999, 2001-2002.) Since 2004, he provided play-by-play and color commentary for broadcasts of Wesley College Football over Stretch Internet and on WDEL Radio 101.7FM and 1150AM. He also provided color commentary for this year’s Dover vs. Caesar Rodney game on WDEL.

Mr Bowen has worked as a staff sports writer for the Delaware State News (2000.) He continues to work as a freelance writer, writing a weekly column called Around the East for d3football.com and occasionally covers local high school and college athletics for the Delaware State News.

Mr Bowen was born in Williamsport, Pa and grew up in Jersey Shore, Pa., State College, Grosse Pointe, Mi. and Mansfield. He resides in Dover and is married to Amy Tierney Bowen a third grade teacher at North Dover Elementary. Mrs. Bowen is the 2010 Capital School District Teacher of the Year. They have three children.
